Boothbay Harbor Waterfront Preservation (BBHWP) is pleased to announce that the entire front face of the 168-foot north pier at the Eastside Waterfront Park is available for free daytime short-term docking for the 2026 summer season (3-hour maximum, other rules posted on dock signage). Because this is the only public access point on the entire east side of the harbor, the BBHWP Board voted overwhelmingly to reserve the whole face dock for that purpose.

At the end of last season, we were delighted when one of our families that rent a slip confirmed that our vision to create a space on the water for everyone was indeed coming true with the following note: “My family and I have greatly enjoyed our time at the BBH Waterfront Park Marina this season—it has truly been a spectacular experience.

“We were continually impressed by the number of transient boaters who came in to use the face dock throughout the summer. Whether they were heading to the Co-Op for dinner and entertainment, over to the fish pier for a display of fresh caught seafood, or simply stopping at this safe, accessible gateway to the east side, every visitor I spoke with expressed real appreciation for the free and well-maintained landing they could use and enjoy.

“Many were surprised to learn that this resource exists only but for the generosity of so many donors and volunteers and not just another service provided by our town. I was always proud to share the story and represent the efforts behind making this marina a reality for all who live in or are visiting our community.

“Thank you again for all you do to keep this such a welcoming and well-run facility. Our family looks forward to calling the BBH Waterfront Park Marina home again next season—and for many more to come.”
