Free CNA training program now accepting applications
MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital (MHLH) is now accepting applications for its fall 2025 certified nursing assistant (CNA) Training Program. The free, seven-week course will run from Sept. 29 to Nov. 20. Classes will be held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the exception of the first day, which will be held on Monday, Sept. 29. Clinical days will run from 6:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Offered in partnership with Central Lincoln County Adult Education, the program includes classroom instruction, skills labs and clinical experience at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta, St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor and MHLH.
It covers essential areas of patient care including infection prevention, communication, body mechanics, age-specific care and CPR. Instructors will guide students through hands-on skills such as taking vital signs, assisting with mobility and providing daily care. Students will be prepared to sit for the state certification examination upon completion of the class.
Accepted students may also apply to participate in the CNA Apprenticeship Program, a paid training opportunity in exchange for an 18-month work commitment at Cove’s Edge or St. Andrews Village following graduation. Apprentices are temporary employees of MHLH and receive additional on-the-job and professional development training. Space in the apprenticeship program is limited, and acceptance is not guaranteed based upon completion of the training.
Applications must be submitted online before Friday, Aug. 29. For more information, call 207-563-4540 or email cna@lchcare.org. Apply online at careersatmainehealth.org.
