Francis “Eli” Whittaker, 73, of Hale Pond Road, Wiscasset, passed away July 22, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on Feb. 16, 1947, son of Benjamin and Evelyn (Godin) Whittaker. He was the brother of the late Nancy Demers. He graduated from Burrillville High School where he played hockey.

He worked for many years with American Tourister. In his semi-retirement years, he worked at LL Bean and for a few different farms in Maine. He enjoyed spending time with family, outdoors, (hunting and fishing), gardening, carpentry, music always the “Grateful Dead” all his pets especially his companion, River.

He is survived by his children, one son, Benjamin Whittaker, and three daughters, Buffie Whittaker and her spouse Neil Smith, Alison Jean, Jessica Goodwin and her husband Robert Goodwin; his loving spouse of 17 years, Cindy Reynolds and her daughter and son (Amy Brown and Nate Brown); one sister, Suzanne Lynes; many grandchildren, Emily Whittaker-Smith, Jonathan Whittaker-Smith, Riley Goodwin, Terry, Tyler, Tage, Teagan, Kaden, Karl, Bradley, Samuel, Gabriel, Quinn; and many nieces and nephews.
