The First United Methodist Church of Boothbay Harbor will host a community open house on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to noon to celebrate the capital improvements that have been completed over the last two years.

Among the major items addressed were: foundation, excavation, and installation of an underground drainage system and foundation waterproofing; new roof and gutters; new front stairs and ramp; new landscaping; replacement of basement windows, repaving of the driveway and parking lot; total repainting of the basement; and kitchen upgrades. The weathervane featuring the Arctic exploring schooner Bowdoin has been refurbished and is scheduled to be placed atop the steeple this fall.

The public is encouraged to stop by and tour the church. Light refreshments will be available.
