'First Light' in local fans’ hands
Boothbay Harbor's Jerry Farnham had a busy afternoon selling and signing copies of his latest release, "First Light," filling fans in on the back stories of main characters in the "Red At Night" series.
The book signing at Brady's drew fans, family and friends, some who were meeting Farnham's wife, Marty and their children, Tessa and Lee, for the first time. The author's parents were there, as always.
Beware, this article contains a few vague spoilers. Said Farnham's mother Michelle Farnham, "I had to stop reading the second book at one point. I was so afraid for Melissa! She had this black bag over her head and I thought, he can't kill her off! And then I thought, I have to read it. What if he (Jerry) asks me questions about it?"
The first book was published Nov. 22, 2022. Since then, "Red At Night" has been followed by "Red in the Morning" - and that one really got your adrenaline going from the outset ... and now, the third. Farnham said there will be one more book in the series, and it's hard to say who that will be hardest for: readers or the author.
Between the second and third books, Farnham also managed to publish the science fiction book he talked about a year or two ago, "Synths." Synopsis (from author website https://jerryfarnham.com/): "One hundred years from now a Global Senate bans synthetic human life, a rogue doctor that supports it, a terrorist group, wanting to bring mankind back to a more simple life, and Jayce our heroine in the middle of it all." Available on Ebook platforms only.
"It was an awesome day!" Farnham said. "As I've said before, 'Naysayers, forget them. Goals, set them. Dreams, chase them. Friends and Family that support you, love them.'"
Jerry Farnham lives in Gorham with his family. But you can see him around his hometown now and again.
And all his novels are in all Sherman's Maine Coast Bookstores and online stores. They are also available on Amazon, Books-A-Million, and Barnes and Noble.
