Do you have any ancestors that lived in Southport, Maine? Is your last name Marr, Pierce, Pinkham, Collins, Brewer, Cook, McClellan, Hodgdon, Cameron, Blake, Sherman, Pratt, Barter, Blackman or Alley? If so, you might be able to trace your roots back to Thomas Marr and Eunice Spinney, who were born in the late 1780s.
Ron Orchard, resident curator and all around source of Southport knowledge, created a fascinating genealogical chart of the offspring of Thomas and Eunice with hundreds of names. You many even find your name on this one-of-a-kind chart!
This is one of the many historical treasures found at the Hendricks Hill Museum, and you can visit on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. through September 5.
