Deborah A. Hallstrom
Deborah Anne (Daniels) (Call) Hallstrom passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, at the age of 84.
She was born in Medford, Massachusetts on Nov. 14, 1941, the daughter of the late Murl and Alice Daniels. She was the baby sister to her brother, the late Murl (Alexander “Alex”) Daniels of Punta Gorda, Florida and is survived by her sister, Marsha Gadoury of Craftsbury, Vermont.
Deborah was a 1959 graduate of Medford High School.
On June 7, 1964, she married Frank A. Call, with whom she shared three daughters. Tobi Lynn Nikias and her husband Pete of Derry, New Hampshire, Niki Leigh Sullivan and her life partner Michael Bates of Medford, and Wendi Lurlene Zook and her husband John of Chesterfield, Virginia. Deborah had 10 beloved grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. As well as a proud aunt to Kenneth Dorr and his wife, Dawn of Dunstable, Massachusetts, and Lori (Dorr) Hayes of Dracut, Massachusetts.
After Frank passed away on April 9, 1980, at the young age of 38, Deborah found love again. On Oct. 9, 1982, she married Lester D. Hallstrom, a childhood neighbor and close friend.
Throughout her life, Deborah worked several jobs, most notably as a medical office clerk in Arlington, Massachusetts. Later, she and Lester co-owned the Admirals Quarters Inn, where they considered every guest a cherished friend.
In 2006, the couple retired and moved to Marco Island, Florida. It is here Les and Deb created more memories with family and friends.
Following Lester's passing in March 2025, Deborah cherished her time traveling and visiting with her daughters. Some of Deb’s (nana’s) past times are knitting, baking, puzzles, and watching her grandchildren in their activities.
Arrangements are under the care of the J.S. Waterman-Langone Chapel, 580 Commercial St., Boston, MA. A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Deborah’s honor to the www.alzheimersassociation.org or the www.dementiasociety.org
