D. Scott McCullough passed away after a courageous battle at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Scott, as he was more commonly referred to, was born on June 27, 1949 in Greenwich, Connecticut to Robert W. and Margaret Hammons McCullough.

Scott attended Brunswick School in Greenwich, Connecticut, The Hun School of Princeton, New Jersey, and graduated from Brown University. He worked for Rolex USA for many years where he was a top sales person.

His love of the water was apparent and he would spend as much time as he could aboard his beloved Black Watch. Scott enjoyed hosting social hour aboard the boat for Kathy and their friends. He loved his yearly trip to Florida on Black Watch and was probably the only sailor that could turn a one-week trip into a four-week trip. He was generous, selfless and extremely patient. Scott sailed on his father's yacht Inverness on many ocean races and was a crew member on two America's Cup boats. He loved his poodles, Fox News and classical organ music.

He was a member of New York Yacht Club, Cruising Club of America, Storm Trysail and the Lincoln County Rifle Club.

He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. McCullough of Riverside, Connecticut, and his brother-in-law, Michael C. Lindsay-Stewart.

Survivors include his adored  wife of 13 years, Kathy McCullough of Boothbay Harbor; stepsons, Scott Campbell (partner Sarah Bartley) of Boothbay Harbor and Ronnie Campbell (Jamie) of Boothbay Harbor; grandchildren Tyler, Austin and Kailee Campbell and Brianna and Brody Campbell.

He is also survived by his beloved sisters, Connie Lindsay-Stewart of Redding, Connecticut, Sandy McCullough of Riverside, Connecticut and Linda McCullough, also of  Riverside, Connecticut; and godchild, Antonia Munro of Scotland.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Midcoast Humane, 190 Pleasant Street, Brunswick, ME 04011.
