Wish
By LILA MILDEN, Inkblot 4-5 Poetry Winner
My paintbrush glides along the paper
and a beautiful, dark red appears
I watch the colors dance across the page
creating a gorgeous rose
Suddenly
I’m inside of my painting
strolling through
looking around
The sky is blue
the clouds are wispy
as they float by
This is paradise
I snap back to reality
I’m back in my room
alone
wishing I could go back
That Fall Feeling, A Series of Haiku
By Gannon Inman, Inkblot 4-5 Poetry Runner Up
Smoke
Puffy white bundles float
into a bright-blue background,
uncovering a new universe.
A Torn Blanket
Shimmering red leaves
drift down from bare arms, only
to return to soil.
Apple
I crunch into
crisp, yellow sweetness, like yellow boots
splashing in a puddle.
