The Boothbay Region High School cross country team competed in a sea of over 800 runners from 38 schools at the Southern Maine Classic in Gorham Sept. 13.  

AJ Crocker led the Seahawks, finishing 52nd in 18:14.01. Other boys results were: Louie Caidoc, 166th; 19:38.53; Jackson Zehm, 214th, 20:16.13; Ross Gaffney, 238th; 20:47.63; John Cooper, 284th, 21:26.12; Ben Gapski, 328th; 21:59.04; Nathan Percival, 363rd, 22:45.45; and Carson MacKusick, 497th, 31:02.05. 

Maddie Andreasen led the Boothbay girls in 118th place with a 24:15.60 finish. Other results were:Maggie McCarthy, 206th, 27:04.86; Rose Campbell, 214th, 27:36.65; Abby Orchard, 219th, 27:53.34; Lexi Hughes, 256th, 29:33.76; and Hannah Kreft, 287th, 33:54.45.  

The boys team placed 28 out of 35 and the girls team placed 24 out of 26.  

Their next meet is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 19 at Boothbay.
