As we start a new year with our new commodore, Skip Williams, and his wife Jane, we are enjoying this great winter in Maine. We gathered at the home of our commodore in January for our first cocktail party.

Some of our members have been on a great adventure to Australia and New Zealand, we hope to hear more about that very soon.

In February we continued with our annual weekend at Sugarloaf. Jeff and Celeste Brown hosted the members on Friday night; appetizers, casseroles, desserts and cocktails were enjoyed by all. Saturday was a DEYC “fun” day on the slopes, the trails, shopping and/or just plain relaxing and taking in the beautiful sights of the area. Saturday night was another fun gathering at the winter home of Janice Mildram and Al Loeschner.

Appetizers, cocktails were enjoyed and stories of the days events were exchanged. The weekend provided to be a very relaxing time to enjoy all that Maine has to offer. We look forward this month to our next informal cocktail party at the home of Mike and Susan Scannon in Bayville.

Our Snowbird members are also enjoying winter gatherings in Florida. January’s hosts were John and Pat Ridlon at their winter home in Venice. In February, Sandy and Karen Young will be hosting. On March 5 and 6, we will be having our annual members gathering in Venice and Sarasota.
