Claude C. Parmenter

Claude Clayton Parmenter, 78, of Southport, Maine passed away on Sept. 24, 2018 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.

Claude was the son of Clayton Claude Parmenter and Anna Elizabeth Farnsworth. He was born May 20, 1940 in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. He attended Southport and Boothbay schools.

He moved to Gorham, married Janice Dickinson and was a truck driver for many years. He later moved to Southport when the sea called him and became a lobsterman. In 1985 he married Patricia Greenleaf. He and Pat wintered in Florida where he enjoyed golf, tennis, playing cards and gambling.

He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters, Marlene and Kay, and his son Christopher Parmenter.

Claude is survived by his wife of 33 years, daughter Susanne Parmenter, son Steven Clark; stepdaughters, Cindy Pottle and Debra Chaney, and stepson “Uncle Bob.” Uncle Gramps also leaves behind several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Claude was a dog lover and often would be seen in his red truck with Cindy and Clayton’s rescue dog Humphrey.

A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery, Route 96, Boothbay Harbor, Maine on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 at 2 p.m.
