Boothbay officials not sure of reason roundabout discoloring
A minor mystery is circulating around the halls of Boothbay's municipal building. The conundrum revolves around discoloration on a portion of the nearby roundabout. One section is now significantly darker than the original color. During the June 25 Boothbay selectmen's meeting, Town Manager Dan Bryer had no explanation.
"I'm not really sure what caused it," Bryer said. "I looks like a substance used to partially fill road cracks may have spilled onto it, but I'm not sure exactly what happened."
In other action, selectmen approved six license renewals for businesses. The Blue Bird Ocean Point Inn received a hotel liquor Class 1-A renewal for a special amusement permit and Innkeepers License renewal. Decksz, LLC, doing business as Lobsterman's Wharf, received renewal for a restaurant Class A liquor license and Class C special amusement permit.
