Boothbay Region Memorial Day parades schedule
This year's observance of dearly departed veterans this Memorial Day will be held on Monday, May 25. Keeping with tradition, all Boothbay region veterans - U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Merchant Marines - are welcome to join the Veteran Detachment marching in each of the seven parades. Arthur Richardson is grand marshal.
Those who are unable to march can ride on the trolley that follows the platoon of troops. All participating veterans should be prepared to march rain or shine.
The Boothbay Region Community Band is scheduled to participate again this year, proving music while marching (tentative), and drummers, help to keep the troops in step.
All U.S. flags should be at half-mast/half-staff from Sunday, May 24 until noon on Monday in honor of Memorial Day. Flags may be returned to full-staff at 12:01 p.m.
