Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club
Friday night last week saw a wonderful crowd of three or more generations gather to celebrate the very successful conclusion of the sixth annual spring High School Sailing Club Program. Director of the program and Club Manager Charles Barclay welcomed parents, friends and participants to the event and each sailor made a brief presentation about how the program had affected their lives and interest in the sport. The Sailing Club was started six years ago by the BHYC Junior Program and with the annual backing of the Junior Program Foundation it has grown in size and stature.
Young folks participating include: Gabby Boord, Club captain and class of 2019 at BRHS; Nate Graves, BRHS 2018; Nolan Colin, home school 2019; Nate Rideout, BRMS '21; Ella Beauregard, CTL '21; Bobby Clarkson, home school '22; Della Hahn, BRMS '22; Hamilton Barclay, BRMS '23; and Toby Clarkson, home school '24. Awards we're passed out and pictures, some of them very exciting, were presented on the screen. The team continues its efforts this fall with many regattas and challenges to meet.
