Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club
Our speaker had a family emergency and had to cancel, and after a bit of thinking, the reality that we have all been working extra-hard was acknowledged and so the decision was made to take the night off from our “regular” meeting. Speaking for myself, I was happy to put my feet up and pig out on comfort food and bad TV.
What have we been up to? Well, there’s the Barn clean out, and lest you forget, the Big Grey Rotary Barn will be open for the season for deals and steals starting Saturday April 4, and every Saturday from then-on from 8:30 to 11 a.m. The place to be is 66 Montgomery Road, Boothbay Harbor. It’s the money we raise here that makes possible all the work we do in the community, including supporting our youth and the Food Pantry and so much more.
Already, Rotarians in pickups are making their rounds. If you have items to donate for resale, email rotarybarnpickup@gmail.com to schedule a pickup of your furniture, bric-a-brac, tools, and household stuff. No white goods, beds, sofa beds or bedding, athletic equipment, or anything too heavy to haul. Thank you! And we look forward to seeing you at the Barn – either to purchase, to donate, or maybe even both. Just remember, it all comes back to support the community.
On March 26, we will welcome Cindy Wade, president of MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital (Miles Hospital to many of us). Cindy will talk about upcoming changes at LincolnHealth and the challenges facing the delivery of healthcare in a rural area. Cindy is an excellent speaker who works effectively to bring comprehensive medical care to our community.
