Sunday afternoon, Oct. 8, the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor at 125 Townsend Avenue invites you to the Remembrance Garden at 2 p.m. for the traditional Blessing of the Animals with the Rev. Eileen Sypher.

St. Francis of Assisi, whose feast day is Oct. 4, loved the larks flying about his hilltop town, and all animals, seeing God’s love in them. He wrote, “All praise to you, Oh Lord, for all these brother and sister creatures.”
