Readers may recall Gabrielle Zevin’s “Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow” as BHML’s 2025 community "Summer Read" pick. The organization partnered with Bigelow Laboratory, Boothbay Region Land Trust, Southport Memorial Library and St. Andrews Village to host satellite book discussions throughout July and August, which secured the novel its place as the most checked out book of the year. BHML will be announcing its 2026 pick in the coming months.  

Kristin Hannah’s “The Women,” Ariel Lawhon’s “The Frozen River” and Paul Doiron’s “Pitch Dark” were featured in 2024’s most popular reads, and once again secured spots. C.J. Box and local author Jerry Farnham also made reappearances with different titles.
