Barter wins chili cook off
The 3rd annual “Last Sunday” cook off at Brady’s was an amazing success again this year with over a dozen chili entries. The five judges donned their referee jerseys and were ready for battle.
Brady's chef John Asendorf kept the competition in check by numbering all contenders so there would be no question of bias! Returning judges Troy Plummer, Clayton Pottle and Capt. Larry Knapp were joined by newcomers Tancy “Momma T” Mitchell and Elliot Schwartz. Elliot was a “total get” on the judging as he is an international Olympic figure skating judge as well as gymnastics, diving and swimming.
The judging was intense as they listed their favorites and went back for additional tastes. In the end, first-year winner David Barter walked away with the Mighty Quinn Chili Trophy! You can't keep a good Dave down.
People's Choice award went to Lisa Walby Rankin. She was the recipient of an amazing epoxy chili paperweight that will look fabulous on her Chamber desk!
Get ready! Next year’s “Last Sunday” cook off will be on 12/29/2024 and rumor has it, Elliot has suggested mac & cheese!!
Happy New Year!!
