In appreciation of Lincoln Arts Festival Chorus
Dear Editor:
Kudos to the husband and wife team of Linda Blanchard and Sean Fleming, for leading the Lincoln Arts Festival Chorus to a packed house on Sunday night at the Congregational Church in Boothbay Harbor.
They provided a varied program of classical, jazz, and music from Broadway, accompanied by their talented chorus, soloists, and musicians. Hours of rehearsal went into the performance, and there seemed to be as much joy on the faces of the performers as on those in the audience.
A special tribute was given to Dr. Barclay Shepard, a founder of Lincoln Arts, who recently died at the age of 100. Many names were listed in the program "In Memoriam" for those who contributed in the past to the success of the festival.
How blessed we are to have such talent in our community, and that they strive to make it affordable, accessible, and enjoyable to all.
