Andreasen, Boothbay girls team win XC home meet
The Boothbay Region High School cross country team put on a strong performance at their home meet Sept. 19. Maddie Andreasen won the girls race, and AJ Crocker led the Seahawks with a second-place finish in the boys event.
The girls team finished first with 18 points and an average time of 3:49 minutes. Each girl also finished in the top ten. The boys team finished second with a three-minute average and 35 points. Lisbon won the boys event with a 2:21 average and 28 points.
Andreasen finished in 24:25.20. Other girls results were: Audrey Robinson, third, 25:57.10; Maggie McCarthy, sixth, 26:29.90; Rose Campbell, seventh, 28:00.40; Lexi Hughes, eighth, 28:14.50; and Abby Orchard, nineth, 28:19.10.
Crocker finished in 17:59.50. Other results were: Louie Caidoc, fourth, 19:09.40; Ross Gaffney, nineth, Jackson Zehm, tenth, 20:06.30; Ben Gapski (Wiscasset), 13th, 20:59.70; John Cooper, 14th, 21:28.90; and Nathan Percival, 19th, 22:39.40.
The Seahawks' next race is scheduled for Sept. 26 at the University of Maine Augusta.
