Learn how to participate in the state’s largest bird survey ever
Join Adrienne Leppold, wildlife biologist with Maine Dept. of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, on Wednesday, April 4, 6:30 p.m. to learn about the Maine Bird Atlas. The talk will be at the Maine Coastal Islands NWR Visitor Center, 9 Water Street, Rockland.
Learn how you can be involved in the largest citizen science project the state has ever seen: A five-year effort to document the abundance and distribution of all breeding and wintering birds across the entire state of Maine. The state is divided into 4,082 survey blocks, and people are needed to survey all these blocks. All ages and birding experience levels welcomed. Not a “birder” or expert? No problem. Every sighting counts! Come learn how you can contribute! Sign up after the presentation to get started.
