Dear Editor:

I felt compelled to write this letter. I feel that everyone should be outraged at this most recent of school shootings, and the ones that came before. To suggest that only mental illness and not assault rifles are at fault is only to try and cure half of the problem.

Guns and mental illness are a lethal cocktail. As far as picking up on the signs for mental illness, what about someone with no obvious signs, someone who just goes over the edge. How many times have we heard about that situation?

This is just a thought about the future of these kids, and the future that some of them will never have. We owe it to them to do something meaningful.
