Dear Editor:

I would like to thank the parents and children of Southport Central School, both past and present, for sharing their children with me.

I have enjoyed teaching, learning and socializing with the Southport community for many years and will miss all the hugs, smiles, tears and conversations with them all.

I received a lovely rocking chair engraved with: “Southport Central School, Elizabeth Reed, With love from All the Children.” This gift will be a constant reminder of my days rocking to console tears, relieve pains and sharing an engaging story in my classroom.

Thank you for all your support, confidence and trust in me with you children.
