Lincoln County Democrats will gather for an old-fashioned political rally at their headquarters in Damariscotta Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 8 p.m., just before the start of the second presidential debate between President Obama and republican challenger Mitt Romney.  

Featured speakers at the rally will be Maine's representatives on the Democratic National Committee, Maggie Allen and State Senator Phil Bartlett.

Attendees will be able to watch the debate, beginning at 9 p.m., on a big-screen TV at the headquarters, located at 133 Main St. in Damariscotta.  Refreshments and snacks will be available.

On Saturday, Oct. 20 the Waldoboro Democratic Town Committee will sponsor a nonpartisan fundraiser for the Waldoboro Food Bank from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Grange on Main Street.  Beef stew, turkey chili, corn chowder, bread, and desserts are on the menu.  Admission is $10.  Watch the paper for more information or call Betsy Wooster at 832-7764.
