BCA celebration goes on despite weather
As everyone knows, the Fourth of July was a complete "washout,” hence the Boothbay Civic Association postponed its celebration to July 5.
On the morning of July 5,we were blessed with several members of the Boothbay Region Community Band, who braved the weather and came to play for the opening of our festivities. Their music was uplifting and greatly enjoyed.
The welcoming address was given by Bruce MacDonald, our local state representative.
Several musicians who were scheduled to appear had other commitments on the change of date, but Arthur Webster, a well-known local musician and loyal contributor of his talents for many years, entertained with his great music. Rep. Bruce MacDonald performed "off stage" with some good fiddling on his violin.
