March’s soup-er supper was outstanding. The hall was festive with St. Patrick’s Day decorations, and the variety of soups that was dished out was myriad. There was escarole, bean and sausage soup, moose stew, Tuscan bean and bacon soup, to name a few. Thanks to all the ladies who cooked and decorated. It was a fun evening.

Adding to the evening’s festivities was the ugly sweater contest. Lou took the prize in the men’s category. He was excited to have won an ugly tie to complement his ugly sweater. In the women’s division, Arlene won a boa that enhanced all the holiday decorations that were on her sweater. Kathleen took the prize for having the birthday closest to St. Patrick’s Day.

The April potluck is scheduled for April 16. Please bring an appetizer, main or side dish, or a dessert to share. Bring along your beverage of choice. As always coffee, tea and water will be available.

Spring has arrived and that means spring cleaning. While at it, keep in mind the Barters Island garage sale. Put aside any items that you want to donate to the garage sale that will take place in June. Just remember that clothing and furniture cannot be accepted. If you don’t have room to store items until closer to the sale date, give Evelyn a call at 207-633-6977.
