Knights of Pythias: Another Hootenanny March 8
Lodge opened at 7 p.m. March 3 with 15 members present.
The membership is growing as the Lodge accepted two applications on Monday. We will soon start the rank work with the two applicants.
Our annual bowling tournament will be held this Sunday, March 9 in Bangor. Two local teams will compete in the fun, statewide event. Those who have signed up will meet at the hall at 5:45 a.m. on Sunday to begin the trip.
The Knights of Pythias is holding another Hootenanny at the Opera House on Saturday, March 8 at 7 p.m. Tim Sprague and Murky Waters, Blaine Blackman and Sweating Bullets and other talented bands and musicians will perform. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Opera House or from Garry Blackman Sr. Tickets are $10 per person in advance or $15 at the door.
The Sunday cribbage tournaments remain popular. Sign up is at 11:45 a.m. and games start at noon. Cost is $10 per person. The public is welcome. Burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings and more are sold in the kitchen during the event.
Another dart tournament at the hall is scheduled for Saturday, March 22 at 9 a.m. More information will be available soon.
The fundraiser for the Marston family at the fire station was a huge success. Brothers Tim Sprague and Garry Blackman Sr. (along with Dick Spofford) provided music for the event.

Sweating Bullets will perform at the next dance on Saturday, March 15, 8 p.m. to midnight. The kitchen will be open and bring your own beverage. The public is welcome. Any help from members during the dances would be more than welcomed.
Thank you, Bruce Barter, for filling the propane bottle for our fryer, and thank you, Reid Hodgdon, for helping with the dumpster.
