Boothbay planning board approves 2 applications and 1 conditionally
The Boothbay Planning Board on June 18 approved two applications and one conditionally. The Demers family received approval to stablize the shoreline of their Shore Road property. The applicants were Johanna, Dierk D. and Devin P. Demers who contracted with Landmark Corporation Surveyors and Engineers of Rockport to repair their shoreland damaged in the January 2024 storms.
The family has owned their East Boothbay cottage since 1981. The storm damaged their pier, seawall and porch and their roof line popped up. The property is in a coastal residential and shoreland overlay district. Their consultant proposed building a boulder barrier to protect their property from storms.
The board conditionally approved the project pending a Natural Resources Protection Act permit.
In other action, the board approved amending a Back Narrows Road subdivision to add four more lots. Ryder Sand & Gravel, LLC. of Leeds was represented by Guy Peaslee and Daniel Colby who received approval to amend the Ryder Trails Subdivision to add those lots. The property is in a residential district.
Raymond Egan received approval to amend the Midden Ridge Subdivision to amend Lot 4's lines. Egan needs to straighten out a road. He reached an agreement with an abutter to swap 1,650 square feet to achieve his objective. The property is on Annable Road in a residential and coastal residential district.
The board meets next at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 16 in the conference room.
