Soup, friendship and resources
On Wednesday, Feb. 5, the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor hosted a free community lunch highlighting presenters from our own CRC (Community Resource Council) and Catholic Charities Program SEARCH sharing valuable resources. Hannah Corkum, LSW is the Community Navigator for CRC which, among other resources, frequently provides connections for folks with food or fuel needs, and Michele Melanson, Program Coordinator for SEARCH, a Catholic Charities program which connects seniors over 60 years of age with in -home services such as:

Friendly visitation and companionship

Telephone reassurance

Helping them with appointments/errands and grocery shopping

Assistance with some in home tasks/projects

Doing socialization activities together

Help with correspondence/forms

Help with yard work
-
Referral to other services & programs when needed

Besides our much-appreciated guests we had a wonderful robust turn out of community folks who enjoyed homemade soups, breads, and Valentine desserts! Our March church free lunch will be Wednesday, March 5. Bring a friend and join us for a meal of great soups and good company!
