Sewer district approves waterline for Bristol Marine
On Jan. 21, Boothbay Harbor Sewer District trustees unanimously agreed to provide BHSD neighbor Bristol Marine with a domestic waterline, totaling about $12,000. This waterline will be placed in a separate trench on Bristol Marine’s property.
The district is also working on an easement with the marine facility that allows the district to operate and maintain sewer lines on private property. This is part of phase 1 of the district's $8.1 million sea wall project.
In other business, trustees discussed submerged manhole covers on Atlantic Avenue in Boothbay Harbor. Superintendent David Pratt explained that cold temperatures can cause roads to rise, but they tend to settle by the end of spring. The magnitude of the rising/sinking depends on where the road is located. Areas on the eastern side of the harbor (where Atlantic Avenue is) are more likely to see a difference. Any areas that need readjustment will be dealt with by early June.
