Dear Editor:

Following up from the most recent public informational meeting addressing the bond issue and tax increment financing district proposals to be voted upon in November, I am writing to confirm that I intend to complete the clubhouse project at the Boothbay Harbor Country Club prior to the end of calendar year 2016.

In the event that the following two circumstances all occur, I will agree to make the town's principal and interest payments on the bonds described below in item (b) from January 2017 until such time as the clubhouse project is complete:

(a) The clubhouse project is not complete by the end of calendar year 2016, and (b) the town issues a $2.5 million bond for the Section 1 road improvements along Route 27 as shown on the Boothbay Village Improvement Plan Preliminary Concept except as these improvements may be modified by Maine Department of Transportation requirements, and completes construction of those improvements by the end of calendar year 2016.

I am very encouraged by the community support for the road improvement project thus far and applaud the good work of the town officials on this important issue.
