LincolnHealth PR is insensitive
Dear Editor:
The unrelenting flow of PR advertisements that keep appearing in our newspaper, compliments of LincolnHealth, are emblematic of the insensitivity and arrogance of the corporate strategists that have succeeded in closing down our hospital. Where was all this desire to keep us informed back when they were plotting this strategy?
At this point in time, it's like pouring salt into the wound, telling us “We're still here” or “You'll still receive the same reliable service.” There is little consolation to be had from these ongoing ads considering the severity of the loss we have incurred from their actions.
The most recent large, half page ad bearing the title, “We're all coming from the same place,” compelled me to write this letter. It stated: “Our name may be new but our mission hasn't changed. With LincolnHealth, you'll continue receiving high-quality personal care on both our Miles and St. Andrews campuses. Most importantly, you'll receive this care from the same physicians and clinical staff you know and trust.” I wish they truly did appreciate the importance of knowing and trusting your care giving physician.
The truth is that if I need critical care now, it won't be from my primary care doctor that I know and trust. It will be from one of the “hospitalists” in Miles hospital that I know nothing about and have never seen before.
And that's the way it is, thanks to MaineHealth.
