Some ideas for Walkability
Thu, 10/10/2013 - 9:00am
Dear Editor:
In regards to Boothbay Harbor's Walkability study, we need to plant trees at the edge of narrow roads and streets. Remove the ugly black curbing (and all the hard top you can).
At the Meadow Mall, put rope or a white picket fence around the corner and create a walkway around the parking lot. Add year-round restrooms, add tables and chairs, plant flowers and more trees in that area.
We also need a town warning alarm system, air quality testing, 24/7 police and a full-time hospital.
Use Lewis Park; beautify it and put back the look-out tower that was there; what a view! Have a place not destroyed by man. The park could be fixed up for less than $1,000.
