At the Boothbay Board of Selectmen meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 25, the board formally adopted an education strategy to inform regional resident about special town meeting issues. The strategy consists of several additional informational meetings, open office hours with the town manager, and public hearings. 

All of these sessions will be interactive and questions will be answered.

The selectmen are also arranging for expert speakers to supplement these sessions. Arrangements are being made with the Department of Economic and Community Development to provide experts on TIF districts. Traffic engineers are being arranged to explain the strategies used in designing the Village Improvement Plan. MDOT has been contacted to provide insight to Route 27 traffic and improvements.

The town is also working on a public service announcement with Boothbay Region Community Television, letters from the Boothbay selectman, and information continually updated on the website. The town website, www.townofboothbay.org, is already populated with information pertaining to the November 5 vote.

The following dates have been scheduled to provide additional information to residents. The town manager is attempting to diversify days of the week and times in the day for information sessions. Everyone will get an opportunity to get their questions asked.

If you are unable to attend an information session submit your questions to the town manager. He will answer submitted questions during sessions and reply.
