LCHA makes final preparations for annual Preservation Party

Event has passed

Lincoln County Historical Association’s annual dinner and auction, Preservation Party, to be held at Pownalborough Court House 23 Court House Rd, Dresden, is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10, just a few short weeks away! Seating is limited, so this is a perfect time to reserve a place at the table. Full details can be found at  lincolncountyhistory.org

Cocktails begin at 4 p.m. with antipasto appetizers and music by jazz guitarists Neil Lamb and David Lawlor. After the catered three-course Italian dinner, auctioneer Kaja Veilleux of Thomaston Place Auction Galleries will offer an amazing array of experiences, including a professional family portrait, two different trips to Italy, a cooking class/dinner for six, a fishing trip on Casco Bay, a dozen car washes, a theater package, a wine or beer tasting for six, a gift basket of wines and cheeses, and more.

Guests will then be dazzled by the now-famous “dance of desserts.” Ann Light, Linda Pope and Claudia Sortwell will demonstrate these culinary delights to be sold to the highest bidder.

A raffle of a wide variety of gift cards including restaurants such as Bred ’n the Bone and Water Street Kitchen, an oyster farm tour, a family membership to Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and more will give everyone yet another opportunity to be a winner.

Tickets, at $75 per person or $125 per patron (patrons are recognized in the event program), must be bought in advance. Buy them at lincolncountyhistory.org or make checks payable to Lincoln County Historical Association and mail to LCHA, P.O. Box 61, Wiscasset, ME 04578.

Proceeds from Preservation Party support LCHA’s mission to collect, preserve and interpret the history of Lincoln County. Key to the work is the stewardship of the 1761 Pownalborough Court House in Dresden, the 1811 Old Jail in Wiscasset, and the 1754 Chapman-Hall House in Damariscotta.
