BRHS students receive recognition, community support at Awards Night




























































Boothbay Region High School seniors gathered onstage at Porter Memorial Gymnasium to celebrate their academic, social and athletic accomplishments on Awards Night June 7.
Guidance Director Leanne Burnham led the event and handed out most of the awards.
“They really have gone through so much these past four years,” Burnham said. “This is our chance to really celebrate with them and it kicks off all the festivities, which is just an exciting time.”
A crowd of family and friends filled seats and bleachers, which erupted with applause as students received their honors. Also in attendance were a number of community supporters, some who presented awards from outside organizations.
BRHS Principal Tricia Campbell said the generosity of the Boothbay community and organizations is astonishing and exceptionally rewarding. “It's a community embrace that readies them for the next step. It's just incredibly Boothbay.”
Following the scholarship and awards presentations, the annual book awards for underclassmen and seniors were announced. Recipients were as follows:
