Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund would like to thank everyone who has made a donation to our annual campaign. The mission of the BRSAF is to provide need-based financial assistance to Boothbay Region High School graduates seeking education beyond the secondary level. BRSAF provides grants – not loans – for up to six years of post-secondary education and  training at accredited institutions for BRHS graduates and alumni in order to reduce their unmet need. Alumni who return to higher education, even later in life, are eligible. Students attending college, university, community college, technical school, trade school or  certificate programs can apply. In the last five years, over 390 grants have been awarded, with an average grant of $4,900. These grants have a significant impact reducing the cost of attendance for students and their parents; however, costs continue to increase, and to that end, we need the generosity of many donors! 

Guidance counselor Leanne Burnham works closely with BRHS students and has this to say about the fund: "Students and alumni of Boothbay Region High School are incredibly fortunate to receive grants from BRSAF to support their post-secondary goals. .... Without the support of BRSAF some graduates may not be able to pursue their post-secondary plans. How lucky they are to grow up in the Boothbay community!"

The deadline for BRHS class of 2023  to apply is May 1, 2023. BRHS alumni may apply for up to six academic years (including three years at the graduate level) to continue their education. Alumni application deadline is July 20, 2023. There is still time to make a difference in the education of our local BRHS grads.
