    With the prolonged stretch of dry weather, wildfires are a constant danger. If you are going to burn, make sure to secure a burn permit. In addition, make sure to have an ample supply of water handy.

    July 3: 10:08 p.m., Boothbay. Mutual aid, brush fire. Boothbay requested brush truck, personnel.

    July 4: 5:01 a.m., Route 1. MVA, car vs deer. No injuries. Cleared debris, controlled traffic until vehicle was towed.

    July 5: 11:14 a.m., Route 1, Newcastle. Paged to assist Newcastle with two-vehicle MVA near town line. Controlled traffic until vehicle towed. No injuries.

    July 6: 1:34 p.m., Route 1. Medical. Patient transported to hospital by CLC Ambulance; 3:36 p.m., Eddy Road. Small brush fire caused by branch on power line. Neighbor had put fire out prior to our arrival.

    July 9: 10:29 a.m., Route 1. Two-vehicle MVA, no injuries. Cleared debris, controlled traffic until vehicles towed; 10:49 a.m., Cross Point Road. Medical. Dispatched First Responder from accident scene. Patient transported to hospital by CLC Ambulance.

    July 13: 9:50 p.m., Schmid Preserve. Paged for two lost hikers. Coordinated with Game Warden Service. Located hikers, assisted them out of the woods, and gave them a ride back to their car.

    July 14: 2:13 p.m., Woolwich. Mutual aid. Provided station coverage at Woolwich Fire Station while they fought a structure fire; 4:35 p.m., Cochran Road. Medical.

    July 16: 10:47 a.m., Route 1/Eddy Road. MVA. Provided traffic control.

    July 17: 6:56 a.m., Island Way. Smoke alarm. Checked building thoroughly, no smoke or fire. Detectors to be replaced.

    July 19: 4:03 p.m., Spring Hill Farm Road. Lost hiker.

    July 23: 4:13 p.m., Route 27. one vehicle MVA, car snapped pole. No injuries. Provided traffic control until car was towed; 4:22 p.m., Route 27 near Eddy Road. Small brush fire, called Wiscasset to cover (mutual aid); 4:56 p.m., Schmid Preserve. Lost hiker. Warden Service, Wiscasset (mutual aid), and Edgecomb responded. Located hiker, got her out of woods, gave her ride back to car; 5:37 p.m., Route 27. Paged to provide traffic control while CMP replaced pole that had been snapped off earlier.

    July 29: 6:15 p.m., Route 27. Medical; 6:50 p.m., Mill Road. Wall outlet with fan plugged in, overheated and started to smoke. Fan removed, killed circuit. Used thermal imaging camera and area same temperature as rest of room. Advised them to keep circuit off until checked by an electrician.
