Dear Editor:
I, Leo Barter Jr., would like to tell you all what happened that day because last week’s paper (June 6) has it like I did it on purpose making it out worse than what really happened.
My fiancee and I had an argument that day and I pulled up next to her car on a hill. I was going up and she was headed down. I have a standard and when she took off and I was taking off, I rolled back a little into her car leaving paint transfer and barely a dent.
Everything was fine with her till her parents called cops and cops told my fiancee to write a statement out or she was going to jail; they scare people like that. I’m guilty a few months later of violating conditions of release by going to her house. He grandfather let me in and her door downstairs was locked we had an argument and I kicked the door open.
I didn’t have bail so instead of sitting in jail for several months to prove my innocence on an accident, I pleaded guilty to get out of jail. So just letting people know I didn’t do it on purpose, it was an accident.
