Dear Editor:

It has been years now since the Boothbay Harbor Waterfront Preservation (BHWP) organization promised donors a green space vision for the former Captain Fish Motel property.

My recollection was the BHWP was a charitable group with tax exempt status. Now we are learning there is a planned grocery store, rental apartments and a public marina? If this is truly a non-profit, where are the financial statements? How do we know the park is financially stable?

There appears to be a lack of proper oversight from the Boothbay Harbor town officials on planning approvals and environmental permits.

Where’s the park? Where is the green space for the people of Boothbay Harbor?
