The Boothbay Region Lady Seahawks held the visiting Dirigo Cougars to just six points in the fourth quarter and came back from a three-point deficit entering the final frame to defeat the Cougars, 51-42, on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at Boothbay Region High School.

The win was Boothbay's second victory over Dirigo (9-2) in a week, as Boothbay also came from behind at Dixfield and won, 60-47, on January 8.

Boothbay (11-1) outscored Dirigo 18-6 in the fourth quarter after trailing, 36-33, after three quarters.

Sophomore Cagney O'Brien and senior Morgan Crocker each scored 16 points, and senior Sara Durgan added 10 points, to lead Boothbay.

Kelsey Hutchins led Dirigo with 16 points, followed by Sabrina Daoud with 10.

Boothbay will next host Mt. Abram on Saturday, Jan. 17, with the junior varsity game starting at 3 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 4:30 p.m.
