Stover, Paxson win contested Boothbay races

Victoria Paxson and incumbent Holly Stover won contested Boothbay municipal elections May 5; 513 votes were cast, according to Town Clerk Andrea Lowery. Paxson defeated Riley R. Mitchell, 286-207, for a superintending school committee seat. Stover registered 322 votes in defeating two challengers, Brian MacDonald (95) and Geoff Smith (79) for a Boothbay Region Water District trustee seat.
Incumbent Russ Pinkham ran unopposed for a second term on the selectboard. He received 460 votes. Matthew A. Doucette was re-elected as Community School District trustee with 421 votes. Bernard MacPhee ran unopposed in winning a cemetery district seat with 432 votes.
Voters approved all the town meeting warrant articles.
