Sewer district elects officers, presents 2015 budget
Chris Higgins, Boothbay Harbor Sewer District Superintendent, provided year end financials to the board. As of Dec. 31, 2014, the Sewer District had total assets of $8 million, including the property and equipment. Liabilities were also $8 million for the nonprofit.
Higgins informed the board that he is currently seeking bids for the sewer district’s 2016 and 2017 fuel oil in order to take advantage of the currently low heating oil rates.
In a new year procedural vote, trustees committed the previously approved 2015 rates for billing and collection purposes. Those rates set the minimum basic rates (900 cubic feet per quarter or less) at $87.55.
The Boothbay Harbor Sewer District Board of Trustees have elected its new slate of officers for the coming year.
Dr. Deryl Kipp, DDS, who has served on the board since 2012, will serve as its chairman. Kipp’s current term as a trustee will expire in 2016.
James Stormont, who served as chairman during 2014, will serve as clerk for the board.
Henry (Ted) Tedeschi, Jr. will be the district’s treasurer for the coming year. Stormont’s current term will end Dec. 31 and Tedeschi’s term expires in 2017.
