In the wake of six players being suspended from the boys varsity basketball team, the remainder of the varsity, along with some players called up from the junior varsity, put up a great effort in the Mountain Valley Conference Championship game played at Spruce Mountain High School on Monday, Feb. 10.

In a very trying situation for the whole program, the Seahawks trailed by just five at the break but were outscored 23-11 in the third quarter as the Dirigo Cougars rolled to a 80-54 victory in the championship game.

For the Seahawks in a valiant effort, Nick Gorey led with 13 points, Andrew Hallinan was the glue with 12 points and Shawn Simmons added 11 points.
