We begin at the end and end at the beginning this week. Welcome to (almost) 2014!

As we all take a breather from holiday celebrations, vacations and big meals, it’s wise to take a few minute away from the gadgets, gifts and gab, and get outdoors — no matter the temperature. Whether you’re skiing, snowshoeing, taking the dog for a walk or just having a quick post-dinner stroll, a multitude of nature preserves in Wiscasset and Boothbay, public places like the Botanical Gardens and quiet roads are open to you. Just exercise caution and dress warmly.
