Home funeral advocate speaks
Natural burial and home funeral advocate, Chuck Lakin, will speak at the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library, 4 Oak St., on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 10:30 a.m.
Lakin states it is important to understand funeral choices and to plan ahead. This includes having legal papers all in order, writing everything down and discussing what you want to have happen to your body after your death.
“Death is a part of life. The opposite of death isn’t life; the opposite of death is birth, transition. It’s going to happen to everybody, and you can make this transition into a spiritual experience if you are aware that it can be,” Lakin said.
The discussion at the library will encompass home funerals, green cemeteries and natural burial. This free event is open to the public and is sponsored by the Boothbay Death Cafe. Please call Lynne Tobin at 207-633-4432 to reserve your space.
