Clamshell Quilters March programs
Our community service workshop has been rescheduled to this coming Saturday, March 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It will be held at the Faith Baptist Church in Newcastle. You are welcome to stay all day, or just drop by for a few hours.
Kits for walker bags and pillowcases will be available to sew, or you may work on a service project of your own choosing. Fabric and batting scrap donations are always welcome. Bring your sewing machine, extension cord, sewing supplies, a bag lunch and your own beverage.
Our meeting on Monday, March 9, also at the Faith Baptist Church, will begin with an optional, informal sewing get-together starting at 2 p.m. Bring your machine or hand sewing, and have fun chatting and getting reacquainted with your fellow quilters. It's been entirely too long a winter!
At 5:30 p.m., Judy Sala will host our meeting. She'll teach us to make a zippered notion bag. If you choose to make one that evening, besides your machine and sewing supplies you'll need: one 7 or 9 inch zipper, 1 fat quarter for the outside of the bag, 1 fat quarter for the lining, 1 half yard of fusible woven interfacing, 1 quarter yard of denim or duck for the interlining, and 1 small D ring.
