A call for action
The Boothbay Town Office is accepting nomination papers for six public offices that have opened for the 2014 election.
Selectman Stephen Ham, Selectman Douglas Burnham, Community School District Trustee Tyler Hodgdon and Lorraine Hodgdon of the Cemetery District are the incumbents who have indicated so far that they are seeking reelection.
The incumbents ran uncontested last year and were all reelected to office, but this year Boothbay residents Michael Pander and Sarah Smith will be challenging them for the selectmen’s seats.
And you can run too. Nomination papers are available at the Boothbay town office and must be returned no later than March 21 at 4:30 p.m. Applicants must collect at least 25 signatures from registered Boothbay voters. May 5 is election day and voting hours will be between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Boothbay Town Office at 1011 Wiscasset Road in Boothbay.
