William S. Raithel died peacefully on Feb. 8, 2016 in Florida with his wife of 62 years, Nancy, by his side.

Bill was born Oct. 15, 1931 in Rochester, New York to Helen Stein Raithel and A. Elmer Raithel. He attended school in Rochester and graduated from the University of Miami (Fla.). Nancy and Bill met at the University and returned to Bill's hometown of Rochester, where they raised their family. Bill took over the family tool and die business, Wm. P. Stein Co., Inc., in 1957 which he operated until 1984. Bill then transitioned the business into a real estate management firm to administer his commercial real estate holdings.

Bill and Nancy moved to Key Largo, Florida and split their time between Key Largo and Boothbay, where they have lived for the past 12 years.

Bill’s passions were his family, classic and antique cars, boats, fishing and golf. He was fond of telling stories about his experiences with his collectible autos, his business, and his travels with the many friends he had in The Classic Car Club and The Rolls Royce Owners’ Club, to name a few.

One of his most treasured accolades was an invitation and showing at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance for his 1932 Marmon Sixteen Convertible Sedan which he lovingly restored in his spare time over a 12-year period.

Bill’s spirit will be cherished by his friends and family, wife, Nancy Johnson Raithel; and children, Carol Ward Raithel, Helen R. White, son-in-law, Edwin B. White III (Skip), William S. Raithel, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Zuzana Ton.
